Dim Sum Perak

Dim sum in perak is no different from other places selling them.The only plus point of the ones in Perak is that they are usually 'halal' and not to mention cheap.This is a very undeniable fact because we all know that dim sum is not cheap after all.Perak has a very famous restaurant selling this dish in particular,the shop is known as Restaurant Foh San.
Basically dim sum are a type of Chinese food prepared as a small bite size portions.This food is served in a small steamer basket.There are various types of dim sum but they are categorized into two : steamed type and fried type

Races to be found in Perak

The population in Perak doesn't have much difference from other states.Races in Perak can be categorised to: 1.Chinese 2.Indians 3.Malays 4.Others

To be exact,the number of Malay people in perak is more then the other races.This is followed by the Chinese people,the Indians and finally other races.The Malay population in Perak is about 1.3million that is 55.74% of the overall.That indirectly shows that more then half Perak-ians are Malays.There are about 700 thousand or 28.77% Chinese people in Perak.Indians comprises of about 12.15% of the overall percentage that is around 300thousand people.The rest are other races.The unity among races can be seen  very clearly in Perak as there are many races living in a very harmonious way.

Ipoh International Run


This event takes place every year without fail.It happens around jun or july.This event starts at perak stadium and the run would normally happen on Sunday.The run sees participants from all around the world since there are many categories being contested.The very normal foreigners taking part in the ipoh international run are those from Thailand,Singapore,Philippines and from Kenya.The ambassador for the event has been Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh from 2011 till now.

Perak River Safari






This special event takes place every year during the month of April.It occurs along the perak river.During the event,alot of thrilling events are to take place such as power-boat and jet-ski races.Apart from that,there are also activities that happen on land like beach football,volleyball and tug-of-war.This event attracts many tourist.











Ipoh White Coffee



This popular drink is originated from Ipoh.It is very famous all around Malaysia.The drink can be served either hot or cold.This drink got its name from the Chinese migrants who earlier came to work in the tin mines in Malaysia in the 1900....The coffee bean are roasted with palm-oil margarine.This coffee is best served with condensed milk.

Ipoh Char Kuey Teow




TThis special dish is very common in Ipoh.It is basically

 made with flat rice noodles tossed and stir-fried with a 

special soy sauce,(at some places this soy sauce is a 

secret recipe passed down from generations).Then bean 

sprouts and other ingredients are mixed to this stir-fry 

dish and catered to the locals.This dish is very popular 

among Malaysians.

Taiping Zoo

Taiping zoo is situated at Bukit Larut.This place is known to have the largest rain fall throughout the year in Malaysia.This zoo is officially the oldest zoo in Malaysia since it was established back in the year 1961.There are about 1300 animals which ranges from about 180 species.Appart from that,the zoo management have made the zoo to be open at night,this new service is known as the night safari.This particular zoo is the ONLY zoo in North Malaysia so it receives a large amount of crowd throughout the year.

Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary

This beautiful place is located at matang forest reserve.This place is a natural mangrove forest spreading along the costline.To be exact,this bird sanctuary is about 50km from Taiping,covers both an inter tidal and mangrove habitat.There is a small fishing village located around but it is still very active till this very day.Bird lovers can get to see some of the very globally threatened birds grace it shores.This Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary is one of the very ideal place for bird watchers to see the roosting site of the waterbirds and also the nesting ground for resident birds.This event can be viewed at the best of it by using a boat.








































This wildlife place is not only habitated by birds but there are also other land animals such as monkeys, wild pig, bats, civets.There are also reptiles like the malayan water monitor,phythons and mangrove snakes.Overall this place would be the ideal spot for bird lovers as there are more then 166 species of birds. 

























Perak Tong Cave Temple

This temple is one of the oldest and most beautiful one preserved in ipoh.This temple is actually situated within the huge limestone cave.This cave was no man made,but of natural source.This temple was constructed by a Buddhists monk from China in 1926.The speciality of this temple is that it is the house for almost 40 Buddha statues with the centrepiece being a 12.8 metre high sitting Buddha.The main attraction to this temple is that is has some mystical mural paintings on the cave's walls as well as the numerous statues.One would simply feel fascinated by the structure of this temple as it attracts thousand of tourists around the world every year.

















The temple is located along jalan kuala kangsar within the outskirts of Ipoh.



PERAK

Perak s official name is Perak Darul Ridzuan.In Jawi the name is translated as " ڨيرق دار الرّضوان or in English, the Abode of Grace".Perak is a direct translation meaning silver in Malay.It is believed that the name would have been derived from the silvery colour of tin.Perak was the richest with the alluvial deposits of tin in the world during 1890's.Even the jewels in the  crown of the Bristish Empire had this.Although the name of Perak is said to have been derived from the tin found in the land,some say it might be have also came from the "glimmer of a particular fish in the water" that sparkled like silver.Coming to the geography of Perak,it is the fourth largest state in Malaysia,second largest in peninsula Malaysia.It is situated at the Peninsula Malaysia which is made up of 11 states.Malaysia is basically split into two parts where 11states are on one land and the other two is separated by the south china sea.
